Food Ministry

Food Ministry Closed on second Tuesday for food truck delivery every month.

As Christians we are commanded by our Lord to help those who are in need. In Matthew 25:34-46, Jesus told His hearers that "to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me

(v 40)"  In obedience to our Lord, we should attempt to help those who have a need. In filling this call of Christ, WBA has established a food ministry to assist those in our county who have a need for our help.

The amount of help we can give is very limited. We are able to help with a small bag of food one time per month, and the recipients must neet certain requirements. We get support for this ministry from individuals, churches, schools, businesses, and from the Alabama State Board of missions. We receive contributions of both food and money for this ministry. We appreciate all the help we get.

Mildred Butler, our Ministry Assisant, directs this ministry and is supported by volunteers who help on the two days per week that we operate the ministry from here at the office.

Food is available from 8:00am until 12:00 noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays of each week. The exception being the 2nd Tuesday when the food distribution will end at 10:00 am so we can get prepared to receive our food delivery from the Bay Area Food Bank. We can always use volunteers to help unload the truck and place items on the shelves. Since we obtain USDA food from this agency we are asked to make the following disclosure:

"USDA is an equal opportunity provider and employer."
